MacAdam, Walter (Babe). November 13, 2011
Peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Colville Manor in Souris, on 13 November, 2011,of Walter (Babe) MacAdam of Morell, age 83 years. Beloved husband of Daphne (Perry) and dear father of Kevin (Jane), Cathy Coffin (Allan), Garry (June), Brenda Smith, Judy Murphy (Gordon), and Andrew (Terri). Babe is also lovingly remembered by 17 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, his two sisters: Jean O'Hanley (Bill), and Mary Palmer (Kilmer), sisters-in-law: Stashie, Helen, and Marion MacAdam, Dale MacLean, and Donna Perry, brothers-in-law: Gill Collins, John MacLean, Carl and Errol Perry. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Alban and Tena, sisters Anna Collins and Rita McCarthy, brothers Donald (infancy), Gerry, A. J., Bertram, Reginald, Francis, and son-in-law, Mike Smith, brother-in-law Cecil McCarthy, and sisters-in-law Ethel and Jean MacAdam.
In addition to his large extended family and friends, Babe is also known for his work with his company, MacAdam's Plumbing and Heating. He was president of both the PEI and National Mechanical Plumbing and Heating Associations, was a plumbing instructor at PVI and worked as instructor with the Provincial OJT Program. Babe gave back to his community as a member of the Morell Village Council, St Theresa's Parish Council, Morell Rink Committee, Morell Fire Department, PEI Red Cross and the Knights of Columbus.
Resting at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Lounge, Morell, on Wednesday, November 16 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral mass to be held Thursday, November 17 at 10:30am. Interment will follow in the St. Theresa Cemetery . If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the PEI Alzheimer's Association or to St. Theresa, The Little Flower, Cemetery Fund.
