Ruth Eileen Sheppard

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, July 12, 2008 of Ruth Eileen Sheppard (nee Whalen ) of Montague, formerly of Cardigan, in her 70th year. Beloved mother of Laurie Pineau (Francis), Charlottetown, Dianna VanHooren, Delhi, Ontario, Freddy, Alberta, Nick (Sherry), Montague and Shelly (Freeman Noel), Montague. Loving grandmother of Ashton, Jamie, Molly and Jonathan Pineau, Cuyler Byrne, Tanner Noel and great-grandmother of Danica Pineau. Also survived by her brother Joe Whalen of Coboconk, Ontario, her sister-in-law Marie Whalen and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Gerald, her parents William and Ethel (nee McGee) Whalen, her brothers and sisters Nicholas, Leonard (Cathy), Rita (Jim), William, Marie (Peter), Claire(Greta), Yvonne and her great-grandson Ethan. Remains resting at the MacMillian Room of All Saints Parish, Cardigan on Monday, July 14, 2008 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Cardigan. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation for Digital Breast Mammography or the Humane Society.
