The death occurred peacefully at the Atlantic Baptist Home in Charlottetown of Roy Ivan Birt in his 80th year, formerly of Pisquid. Survived by his loving wife Doreen (nee O’Brien); and his children, Ivan Birt, Jan (Darcy) Sock, and Perry (Amy Lundrigan) Birt; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Kerri Ann Sharpley (Kyler), Robin, Darcy Jr., and Nevaeh Sock, Brett (Samantha) and Kassie Birt; as well as 4 great grandchildren. He will be also dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Louise Sheppard, Donnell O’Brien (Susan), Claude O’Brien (Nancy), Lloyd O’Brien (Jane) and Anthony O’Brien (Rose); as well as a dear friend, Richelle Walker. Predeceased by his parents, Sammie and Annie Birt; his parents-in-law, Agatha and Smith O’Brien; brothers, Cecil, Leonard, and Maurice Birt; his sister, Stella Griffin; as well as sister-in-law, Joyce O’Brien and brother-in-law, Pat O’Brien. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, for visitation on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. There will be a funeral service to be held at a later date.
