Peacefully and surrounded by family, the death occurred of Roger James McMahon, aged 57. Loving husband to Bernadine (Laybolt); father to April (Gordo Bernard), Kent, Barry, and Jeremy (Tara MacPhail). Loving poppy to Jessica, Ella, Brae-Lynn, Carson, Sydney and William. Dear son of Emerson and Ethel McMahon. Roger will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Kathy (Joe), Jenny (Marvin), Brenda (Brian), Lloyd (Tina) and Blaine (Suzanne); as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, David Laybolt (Ronda), Reggie Laybolt (Ann), Alfred Laybolt (Jennie), Gary Laybolt (Joanie), Donnie Laybolt (Sharon), Blaine Laybolt (Mary Leah), Verna Dingwell (Francis), Yvonne MacAulay (Charlie), Darlene Doucette (Lloyd), Sandra Savoie (Robert) and Patsy Laybolt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, for visitation on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Funeral mass to be held at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 3:00 pm. Interment to follow in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Andrew’s. In memory of Roger, memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care. The funeral for the late Roger James McMahon was held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at St Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Laying the pall were April Bernard, Kent Rose, Jeremy Rose and Barry Rose. The first and second readings were read by Tina McMahon while Barb Blaisdell offered the prayers of intercession. Father MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. The pallbearers consisted of Roddy Sanderson, Jackie MacCormack, Blaine McMahon, Don MacKinnon, Lloyd McMahon, and Gordo Bernard. Acting as honorary pallbearers were Blaine Laybolt, Cheryl MacKinnon, Kyle Steele, Paul Lewis, Wally Steele and Scott Dockendorff. Flower Bearers were Cassie McMahon, Hayley Laybolt, Janelle MacDonald, Angela O’Hanley, Holly Savoie and Madeline O’Hanley. Music was provided by Frank Whitty singing, Processional, How Great Thou Art; Psalm, Alleluia; Preparation of gifts, God on the Mountain; Communion, In the Garden; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, Amazing Grace. Interment was in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Andrew’s. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
