Roderick "Roddy" Pius MacDonald

Suddenly on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, while out on his daily walk, the death occurred of Roderick (Roddy) Pius MacDonald of Charlottetown, formerly of Blooming Point, PEI, aged 91.  He is survived by his son, Leonard (Jane), Springfield, NS; grandson, Carter, Alberta, brother-in-law, Terrence McKenna, Stratford; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Roddy was predeceased by his parents, Roderick and Mary (MacDougall); his first wife, Margaret (Toole); his second wife, June (Newson); siblings, Mary Ellen McBride (Allan), John MacDonald, Margaret “Peggy” McKenna, Sister Joan MacDonald, Lorne MacDonald (Kathleen), and a brother in infancy.

Roddy was a devout Catholic, known for his strong faith.  He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandson, Carter.

Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell for visitation on Friday, July 26 from 4 – 6 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie Cross, with interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
