Preston Garfield MacDearmid

The death occurred peacefully at Souris Hospital on December 28, 2019 of Preston Garfield MacDearmid, of Milburn Road, Cardross, aged 86. Survived by his wife Leona (DeCoursey) of 46 years; his step son, Darrell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sr. Mary DeCoursey, Margaret, Emmett (Bernice) DeCoursey, and Marlene Sanderson. Also survived by special niece, Shirley McGillivray; special friends, Greg and Leanne Shepard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Felicity MacDearmid; his sisters, Violet MacGillivray (Aeneas), and Winnie MacDearmid; his brothers, Francis and Raymond MacDearmid; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cletus DeCoursey, Theo DeCoursey (Pauline), Earl DeCoursey (Noelle), Kenneth DeCourcey (Eleanor), Theresa Gallant (Arthur) and George O'Brien; as well as his nephews, Terry DeCoursey, Paddy MacGillivray and his step daughter-in-law, Shirley DeCoursey. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center, St. Peter's Bay, for visitation on Thursday, January 02, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Peter's Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter's Bay, on Friday, January 03, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
