The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, August 23, 2008 of Pius Owen MacDonald, aged 80 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Beloved husband of Mary Josephine MacDonald. Loving father of Catherine Fisher (Kenny), Anna MacDonald (Boyde Beck), Sheila MacDonald (John Dowling), Donna Crane (Roger) and Blair MacDonald. Brother of Doreen Corner, Halifax. Grampie of Tyler and Travis Crane, Kristen and Tiffany Fisher and Jolene MacDonald. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Catherine MacDonald (nee MacKinnon), his brother Duncan MacDonald and his aunts and uncles. Remains resting at the Dr. Roddie MacDonald Community Centre in St. Peters on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held Thursday, August 28, 2008 from St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, St. Peters at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the St. Peters Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Donations in Owen's memory may be made to the St. Peters Roman Catholic Church Renovation Fund or the Kidney Foundation.
