Surrounded by his loving family, Raymond died peacefully at the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge on September 23, 2012. He was 85 years of age and formerly of Montague. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Sullivan), and father to Anne (Brian Rector), Joan, John (Lesa), Rae (Patrick Murphy), Patricia, Jane (Carl Evans), Heather, Kevin (Heather) and Shawn. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as his brother, John (Joyce) Fitzpatrick, daughter-in-law, Leona Munn; sisters-in-law, Reta Smith, Judy Fitzpatrick, Helena Sullivan, Leona Sullivan, and Joan Sullivan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Mary (MacCormack) Fitzpatrick, his son, Gary Fitzpatrick; his brothers, William, Ernest, Louis Jr, and George; his sisters, Gladys in infancy and Alice Poelzer (Rodney); brothers-in-law, George, Alban, Urban and Eugene Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hurst (Norman), Stella, and Bertha O'Neill (Bazil). Resting at the MacMillan room of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Cardigan, for visitation on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 6 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 26, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Montague at 10:30 am. Interment in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Raymond's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of PEI, the Dr. John Gillis Memorial Lodge in Belfast, or to a charity of your choice.
