With profound sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Peter A. Sheppard on June 28, 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Born at home in Mount Stewart, Peter was the youngest child of the late Dr. George and Charlotte (MacKenzie) Sheppard.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Sheila Curley and brothers George (Kathy) and Graham (Anne). Cherished uncle to Peter Curley (Shelly), Kristopher Curley, Lauren Murphy, George Sheppard Jr., Chevon MacPhee (Brodie), Chris Sheppard (Alison), and Laura (Craig) Hodge. Great-uncle to Alex Murphy, Lilly Murphy, MacKenzie Curley, Maria Curley, Morgan Sheppard, Abigail Sheppard, Emma Sheppard, and Dominic MacPhee.
Peter dedicated much of his life to public service, working with the Departments of Forestry in both Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, and later sharing his knowledge as an Adult Education instructor with Holland College in Morell.
A man of many interests, Peter was passionate about photography, painting, history, and was an avid reader and collector of books. He enjoyed supporting and cheering on his great-nieces and nephews in their various sports.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes, there will be no public service. A private graveside service for family only, will be held at People’s Cemetery, Mount Stewart. Arrangements are entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting our website at northshorefuneralhome.ca
