Peter Norbert Campbell

Surrounded by his family, the death occurred peacefully on April 03, 2024 at Kings County Memorial Hospital of Peter Norbert Campbell of Newport in his 85th year.  Survived by his loving wife  Leona (nee Fay) of 55 years; his cherished children, Jane (Kerry) MacPhee, Shane Campbell (Lindsey Ehman), and Crissy (Wade) Czank; his adored grandchildren, Jared (Hailey) MacPhee, Ella MacPhee, Gavin Mullins, Maxwell Mullins, and Leo Czank; and by his beloved great grandchildren, Ava, Alayna, Jax and Aliza MacPhee.  He will be also sadly missed by his brother, Kenneth (Betty) Campbell; his sister,  Lucy Johnstone;  his sisters-in-law,  Annette Fay, Lorraine Morrison, Harriet Campbell and  his brother-in-law, Charles (Brenda) Fay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents, John A. and Marion Campbell; brothers, Joseph, Newman, and Harold Campbell; his sister, Jean (Jim) Manning; brothers-in-law, Junior Johnstone, Joe Fay, Ivan Morrison and Jerome Campbell; his nephews, John Campbell, and Dean Johnstone; and by his niece Lisa Sailee.  Peter was a hard working fisherman and farmer who took pleasure in the simple things in life.  Peter loved his home in Newport and always welcomed people for a cup of tea and a game of cards.  His family, friends and neighbors were a very important part of his life and very supportive in many ways.    He especially loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and took a great interest in all of their activities.  Resting at North Shore Funeral Home,  Morell, for visitation on Friday, April 05, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral mass to be held on Saturday, April 06, 2024 at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church, St. George’s at 11:00 a.m.   Interment in the parish cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peter’s memory to Kings County Memorial Hospital Loans Cupboard, or to St. George’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund.  Online condolences may be emailed to northshorefh02@gmail.com.   The funeral will be recorded and the link will be available on our North Shore Funeral home Facebook page later in the day.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.  To view the recorded funeral service, please copy and paste this link into your browser:  https://youtu.be/M7hlwUbXbRA
