The death occurred on November 02, 2021 at Souris Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer, of Melvin Gerard Clements, aged 68 years. Survived by his siblings, Merlin (Gloria), Cornelius (Denise) and Catherine Manning; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Earl and Mary Clements; his brother Albert (Loretta); his sister Margaret (in infancy); and brother-in-law, Kenneth Manning. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell , for visitation by invitation only on Sunday, November 07, 2021 from 3 – 6 pm. (Vax pass will be required). Funeral mass to be held on Monday, November 08, 2021, at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles, at 10:30 am which will be by invitation only as well. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Cemetery Fund by etransfer to northshorefuneralhome@gmail.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
The funeral mass for the late Melvin Gerard Clements was held on Monday, November 08, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles PE, with Father Augustine officiating. Placing the pall on the casket were Merlin Clements and Catherine Manning. The first reading was read by Albertine Clements while Carol Ann Matheson proclaimed the second reading. Prayers of intercession were offered by Michelle Anderson. Father Augustine read the gospel and delivered the homily. Pallbearers consisted of Colin Cahill, Shawn Clements, Donald MacPhee, James Manning, Richard Manning, and Eddie Peters. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Music was provided by Pam Grant singing, Processional, You Are Mine; Psalm, Psalm 23; Preparation of Gifts Only a Shadow; Communion, How Beautiful; and the Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
