The death occurred at Kings County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 04, 2020, surrounded by family, of MaryLou Gallant (nee Yates), formerly of Lake Verde and St. Peter’s Bay aged 74. Survived by her partner, Billy MacDonald; by her children, Joey MacAulay (Lilla), Lori Matheson (Brian), Ken Gallant (Laura) and Kevin Gallant (Nancy); by her grandchildren, Ashley (Derrick), Keagan (Catherine), Chandler (Emily), Liam P, Kyera (Donovan), Kason, Kallan, Abbey, Curtis, Brodie, Paili, Madison, Alex (Becca) and Liam; as well as two great grandchildren, Bridget and Denver. Also survived by her brothers, Arnold Yates and Barry Yates (Doreen); and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Dorothy (Stewart) and Harrison Yates; three children in infancy; siblings, Harry, Fred, Wayne, Anne and Marie. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, where there will be a private visitation due to Covid-19 restrictions. Funeral mass to take place at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, by invitation only. Interment in the parish cemetery. The funeral mass for the late MaryLou Frances Gallant was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Placing the pall were Ashley Llewellyn, Abbey Gotell, Kyera MacAulay, and Bridget George-Llewellyn. The first reading was read by Colette Gotell, while Mary Irene MacSwain proclaimed the second reading. Teresa MacKinnon offered the prayers of intercession. Father Brian MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. The Pallbearers were Keagan Matheson, Chandler Matheson, Alex Keefe, Kason MacAulay, Kallan MacAulay and Liam Paterson. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers were Ashley Llewellyn, Abbey Gotell, Kyera MacAulay, and Bridget George-Llewellyn. Music was provided by Denise Metcalfe and Lester Stubbert singing, Processional, Here I am Lord; Psalm. The Lord is My Shepherd; Offertory, Morning has Broken; Communion, Be Not Afraid; Meditation, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the Recessional, Dancing in the Sky. Interment was held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter’s Bay. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
