The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, with her family by her side, of Mary Gertrude Larkin of Charlottetown, and formerly of St. Peter's Bay, in her 90th year. Wife of the late A.J. Larkin. Survived by her children, Jim (Helen), Pat (Joan), Sharon (Deryl) Beaton, Elaine (Joe) Hennebery, Sandra (David Bradley), Claire (Dave MacFarlane), Joseph (Lucy), Teresa (Gary) Ellis; by her Son - in - Law, Derry Virtue; as well as 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Marion and George Purdy of Hamilton, ON; sisters-in-law, Gerry MacDonald and Ann Larkin; Eileen and her husband Paul Kingsbury; and brother-in-law, Desmond Larkin. Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Larkin-Virtue: her parents, John Andrew and Matilda (MacKinnon) MacDonald; brothers, Ronald, Fabian, Lee, Allen, Ben; and sister, Claire Byrne. Remains transferred from the North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, to the Dr. Roddie MacDonald Community Center, St. Peter's Bay, for visitation Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Peter's Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter's Bay, on Friday, November 30, 2012, at 10:30 am. Interment in the parish cemetery. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's memory, to the Shriner's PEI Chapter. Due to alllergies, please refrain from wearing scents.
