The death occurred at the Riverview Manor on September 07, 2024 of Marjorie Mary Gillan, (nee Trainor), formerly of Peakes Road. Survived by her children Barry Gillan (Linda), Linda Gillan Young (Garrie), Maureen MacEwen (Doug), and Kenny Gillan (Dorine). Loving grandmother to Andrew (Avery), Daniel (Danielle), Nicholas (Vicki), Chris (Susan), Lindsey (Jared), Kaitlin (Pete), Micayla (Josh), Sarah (Ben), Jamie (Jaylisa), Kyle (Emma) and Kelsey. She will be also sadly missed by her 20 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband James; her parents, Joseph and Mayme; her brother, Gerard (Rose) and adopted sister, Elaine (Hans); as well as numerous extended family members from the Trainor and Gillan families. Resting at St. Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Church, St. Teresa, for visitation on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at the church on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to the Arthritis Society PEI Division, Diabetes Canada, or to the Canadian Cancer Society of PEI. Arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.

The funeral mass for the late Marjorie Mary Gillan was held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Teresa with Father Danny Wilson officiating. Placing the pall were her children, Barry Gillan, Linda Gillan Young, Maureen MacEwen, and Kenny Gillan. Pallbearers included grandson's Andrew Gillan, Chris Callaghan, Daniel Gillan, Jamie MacEwen, Nicholas Gillan and Kyle Gillan. Honorary Pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers were her great grandchildren. The first reading was read by Noreen Gillan, while Rita Curran proclaimed the second reading. Granddaughters Sarah Charlton, Lyndsey Mahnic, and Kaitlin Shaw read the Prayers of Intercession. Lay Distributor was John Gallant. Music for the celebration was provided by St. Cuthbert’s Church Choir under the direction of Mary Trainor and organist Michelle MacDonald singing, Processional, Be Not Afraid; Psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd; Preparation of Gifts, How Great Thou Art; Communion, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; Meditation, On This Day O Beautiful Mother; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, Just a Closer Walk With Thee. Interment was in the parish cemetery. During a reception her granddaughter, Sarah Charlton gave a heartfelt eulogy. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell
