Marion Clementine (Clemmie) Somers

Peacefully at Kings County Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 20, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, of Clemmie Somers of St. Georges, age 74 years. Survived by Charles, husband and best friend of 52 years, and children: Billy (Eleanor), Gail Somers-Johnston (Geordie), Gerard (Bernadette), Johnny (Bernadine), Sharon Johnston (Gordon), Cindy Shepard (Daniel), Brian (Charlene), Blair (Margaret), Joanne MacDonald (Kevin), Keith (Kelly) and Wayne (Pam); thirty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Flynn, Bernice Sheenan, Annie MacDonald, Rita MacPhee, Georgina MacDonald and Sarah Newell, and brother Michael (Florence) MacDonald. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law J. D. and Penny Somers, Mary and Glen Taylor, Anita and Billy Conohan and Aggie Campbell. Predeceased by her son Allen and two infant grandchildren, Christine and Gordon, her parents Duncan and Regina MacDonald, brother Joseph, sister Nora MacDonald, and two infant brothers. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a. m. on Tuesday, March 24, at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church, St. Georges. Interment to follow in St. Georges Cemetery. Resting at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church Lounge for visitation on Monday, March 23, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. If so desired, donations in Clemmie's memory may be made to St. Georges Cemetery Fund or the Autism Society of Prince Edward Island.
