With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, Margaret “Peggy” Teresa Eldershaw (nee Wilson) of Morell, on February 20, 2024 at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home in Charlottetown, aged 93 years. Beloved mother of Jimmy (Darlene), David (Leah), Michael (Corrine), and Annette (David) MacSwain. Cherished nanny to Crystal (Jon), Scott (Tara), Laura (Chris), Vicki (Chris), Delia (Gary), and Elizabeth (Mike). Loving great nanny to Jillian, Julia, Jenna, Aiden, Cameron, Abigail, Rhyley, Jordan, Bridget, Lucy, Phoebe, Mason, Molly and Mackenzie. She is survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Emmett (Jean) Eldershaw and Ed Mullen as well as numerous nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her husband Albon; by siblings, Daryle (Mary) Wilson, Penny (Jerome) Lewis, Roma (Mike) Glass, Gerard Wilson, Cyril Wilson, Yvonne Wilson and Anna (Al) Doucette. She is also predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Lois (Owen) Sinnott, Keith (Bernie) Eldershaw and Yvonne Mullen. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, for visitation on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to St. Theresa, The Little Flower Blessed Mother Grotto. The funeral Mass for the late Margaret “Peggy” Teresa Eldershaw was held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, with Father Brian MacDougall and Father Danny Wilson officiating. Altar Servers were John MacDonald, David MacAdam and Paul MacAdam. Placing the Pall were Annette MacSwain, Michael Eldershaw and Jimmy Eldershaw. The first reading was read by Corrine Hendricken – Eldershaw, while Mary Rose Connolly proclaimed the second reading. Noreen Gillan offered the prayers of intercession. Father Wilson read the gospel and Father MacDougall delivered the homily. The Pallbearers were Scott Eldershaw, Gary Tassell, Jeremy Lewis, Danny Eldershaw, David MacSwain and Chris Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers consisted of Crystal Eldershaw, Laura Eldershaw, Vicki Matheson, Jillian Tassell, Julia Tassell and Jenna Tassell. Eucharistic minister was Marjorie Hendricken. Music was provided by Jacinta MacDonald singing, Processional, Be Not Afraid; Psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd; Preparation of gifts, Come to the Water; Communion, The Bread of Life; Meditation, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment will take place later in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
