Lorne MacLaren Obituary

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Thursday, November 04, 2021 of Lorne MacLaren of Greenwich, aged 86 years. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife Nona (Peterson); his sons, Kent (Joanne), and Gary (Jennifer); his daughter, Karen Guthrie; stepsons, Scott (Kim) Anningson, and Tim Anningson; and stepdaughter Paula Anningson. Also survived by grandchildren, Joshua Guthrie, Grace and Faith MacLaren, Denis, Emilia, Henry and Matthew Anningson; his brother Reggie MacLaren (Allene), as well as many caring nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lyle (Sanderson) MacLaren; his brothers, Melvin, Keith, Victor, Alfred and Maurice; his sisters, Gladys, Rhoda, Jean, Freda, Lois and Irma; and his son-in-law James Guthrie. Cremation has taken place. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, where a public visitation will take place on November 16, 2021 from 2 -5 pm. (Vax pass will be required). Funeral to be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Bay United Church, St. Peter’s Bay by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lorne’s memory directly to an Island Charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.northshorefuneralhome.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. The family would like to thank the staff of Souris Home Care and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care of Lorne.

 

The funeral for the late Lorne MacLaren was held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at St. Peter’s Bay United Church, St. Peter’s Bay, with celebrants, the Rev. T. Kevin Dingwell and the Rev. Blair Sorrey officiating. Words of remembrance, written by the family, were delivered by the Rev. T. Kevin Dingwell. Prayers of the people were offered by the Rev. Blair Sorrey. Readings were read by Scott Anningson, Gary MacLaren, and Kent MacLaren. Music was provided by Alfie and Coralie MacLaren singing the following hymns; Will Your Anchor Hold, For All That You Have Done, and We Shall Go Out With Hope of Resurrection. Susan Anderson prepared the electronic resources. Interment will take place at a later date at Midgell Cemetery.
