The death occurred peacefully at Palliative Care in Charlottetown, of Kenneth LaBute of Morell in his 85th year. Survived by his wife, Diana (nee Yap); his children, Gerald LaBute, and Jeff LaBute (Evelyn); his grandchildren, Leighton, Jordan and Abigail LaBute all of BC, his sister, Lois (Vince) Bownick of Texas, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Yap-Yu (Raymundo) of Charlottetown; Benjamin Yap of Chicago, Myrna Luna (Jose), Salvacion Lee, and Josephine Uy, all from the Philippines. Also survived by his children’s mother, Shirley Carroll, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Gladys LaBute; his brother, Lawrence (Betty); his sister, Audrey; and his second wife Teresa MacPhee. Cremation will take place, and by personal request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass to be celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell. Interment in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Stewart.
