Joseph James Kenny

The death occurred peacefully at The Mount Continuing Care Community, surrounded by his family on July 31, 2015 of Joseph James Kenny of Byrnes Road, in his 92nd year, devoted husband of Ruth (Trainor). Born in Charlottetown, he was the son of the late John and Clara (Cunningham) Kenny. A loving father to Gerard (Jo), Dromore; Margaret (Rueben), Lakeside; Cecil (Marie), Brackley; Roberta, Bethel; Bernadette (Leo), Watervale; Eleanor (Frank), Fortune; Gladys(Lloyd), Tracadie Cross; David (Kathy), Head of Montague; Patricia (Frederick), Hanover, Ontario; Robert (Josie), Mount Herbert; and Paul (Anne), Albany. Forever loved by his 31 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother-in-law Cecil (Marion) Trainor and sisters-in-law Anita (Clifford) Ryan and Roseen (Carl) Baird. He is also remembered lovingly by his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Tom (Catherine); sisters Marie Kenny, Helen (Joseph) Phelan, Marguerite (Harold) Phelan, infant granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Kenny, and sisters-in-law Helen (Roy) Kenny, Sally Trainor, Jimmy Trainor and Gladys Trainor. Resting at the St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church in Green Meadows for visitation on Sunday, August 2, 2015, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 with funeral mass at 2 p.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Green Meadows. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery Fund. Out of respect for the family, please refrain from wearing scented products. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
