The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family, on September 23, 2011, of Joseph Charles MacAulay,of Cardigan, veteran of World War II, serving with the North Novies, in his 89th year. Survived by his sister; Mary MacCormack (Jack, predeceased), his sister in Law; Sister Bernadette Gallant, his special friends; Jackie and Ross Matheson and their family, by numerous nieces and nephews and their families as well as his caregiver, Bonnie Campbell. Predeceased by his parents; Daniel and Rosella (nee Sullivan) MacAulay, his brothers; William and Peter (Anna), by his sisters; Loretta Brothers (Bill), and Helen MacAulay. Resting in the MacMillan Room at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Cardigan, for visitation on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 6 - 9 PM. Funeral mass to be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Cardigan, on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations in Joe's memory may be made to the PEI Humane Society. Funeral entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
