The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, of Joseph Rudolph Belanger, aged 82, of Morell, P.E.I. Joe will be sadly missed by daughter, Trina (Paul) Trickett; granddaughters, Ashley, Alyssa and Kaitlyn; sisters, Carol McGarry (Raymond) and Bernice O’Gorman (John); sister-in-law Giselle; brother-in-law, Wayne Riley; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Predeceased by parents, Bob and Alice Belanger; brothers, Blair and Donnie (Sis); and sister, Audree Riley.
Joe was a man of many passions – to name a few: being a Red Seal mechanic at Northside Autobody (where he worked on many vehicles and met many people), fishing, family gatherings, being in the military and travelling around the world, and all animals, especially his beloved dog, Molly, who predeceased him. Funeral will be held at St. Theresa, the Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, with interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery, followed by a reception in the church basement. If desired, donations in Joe’s memory made directly to the PEI Humane Society would be appreciated either by mail or e-transfer.
