John Patrick “Pat” Larkin Obituary

The death occurred peacefully on June 29, 2021,of John Patrick “Pat” Larkin of Stratford and formerly of Cable Head East, aged 73 years. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joan (nee Palmer); his children, Rebecca (Harvey), Daniel, Brian (May), his grandson Callen; his siblings Jim (Helen), Joseph (Lucy), Sandra (David Bradley), Sharon (Deryl) Beaton, Elaine (Joe) Hennebery, Claire (David MacFarlene), and Teresa Ellis.
Also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-laws Derry Virtue, Louis (Mary), Norbert (Mary), Mickey (Anne), Richard (Debbie), Paul (Paula), Cindy (Kris) and Jane (Peter) MacAdam. Predeceased by his parents A.J. and Mary Larkin, sister Lorraine Virtue, mother and father in law George and Jeanette Palmer and brother in law Gary Ellis. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. Funeral mass to be held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, July 06, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Due to covid restrictions, visitation and funeral mass will be by invitation only. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pat’s memory may be made to St. Peter’s Bay Cemetery fund, or to the PEI Humane Society, either directly or by e-transfer to northshorefuneralhome@gmail.com Online condolences may be made to www.northshorefuneralhome.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.

 

The funeral mass for the late John Patrick “Pat” Larkin was held on Tuesday, July 06, 2021 at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. The Altar Server was Jimmy MacAulay. Lighting of the pascal candle were Jim and Helen Larkin. Placing the Pall were Sharon Beaton, Elaine Hennebery, Sandra Larkin and Claire Larkin. The first reading was read by Adam MacIsaac, while Thomas MacDougall proclaimed the second reading. Sandra Larkin offered the prayers of intercession. Father MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers consisted of Danny MacIsaac, Bill Lewis, Joe Hennebery, Mickey Palmer, Donnie Enman and Dr. George Saunders. Flower Bearer was Callen Larkin. Eucharistic minister was Peter MacAdam. Attending the mass in a group were representatives from the PEI School of Nursing, class of ‘74. Music was provided by Joe Byrne and Claire Byrne singing, Processional, I’ll See You Again; Offertory, On Eagles Wings; Communion, Amazing Grace; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the Recessional, You Raise Me Up. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
