John Lewis McDonald

On Saturday October 12, 2013 in the Palliative care room at the Souris hospital, John Lewis McDonald of Church Rd. Morell aged 68 years passed away peacefully with family by his side. John was born in Nijemegen, Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1948. John enjoyed travelling and he was especially fond of Scotland and Prince Edward Island. After spending many years in London, Ontario John was able to fulfill his dream and moved to the "Island" in 1994. John is survived by his soul mate of 42 years Diane McDonald (nee Allensen); loving father to Mary McDonald (Hayden Blunte) and papa to Gabriel and Jonah; and his brother Stephen McDonald (Judy) and nephews/ niece Christopher, Michelle, and Shaun. He was predeceased by his parents Stephen H. McDonald and Antonia H. McDonald (nee Cuppens) and brother William "Billy" McDonald. Diane and Mary wish to sincerely thank the staff of the Cancer treatment centre, Home Care, and the Souris Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Out of respect to John's wishes there will not be a funeral. The visitation will take place on Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 at the North Shore Funeral Home in Morell.
