Peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on March 07, 2017 of John “Kenneth” DeCourcey, Senior, of Milburn Road, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Eleanor (Gallant) DeCourcey, who passed away on April 21, 2014, and son of the late Leo and Elmira (Sanderson) DeCourcey. Left to mourn are their children, John Kenneth Jr. (Joanna), Clarence (Jane), David (Janice), Patrick (Rhoda), Diane, Claude, Kevin (Lynn), Constance, Kenna, Janice, Stephen, Shane, Melissa (Gordon), and Scott (Colleen) DeCourcey; sisters, Leona MacDearmid (Preston), Theresa Gallant, Margaret O’Brien, Sister Mary DeCourcey, and Emmett DeCourcey (Bernice); sister-in-law, Marlene Sanderson; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he is predeceased by sons-in-law George Geldert and Jimmy Cullen; brothers Theophane (Pauline), Earl (Noelle), and Cletus DeCourcey; brothers-in-law Arthur Gallant and George O’Brien. Kenneth and Mary Eleanor will be resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Centre, St. Peter’s Bay, for visitation on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund.
