With heavy hearts, on December 22, 2023 we announce the death of Jean Teresa O’Hanley (nee MacAdam) of Morell, aged 97 years. Survived by her husband Bill; her sons Billy Joe and Michael (Maria); by her granddaughter Danielle (Tim); and great grandchildren Payton and Aleaha. She will be also sadly missed by her sister, Mary (Lou); and sisters-in-law, Marion, Leah, Giselle and Daphne as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Alban and Tina; and by siblings, Gerry, Rita (Cecil), Carl (Helen), Francis (Stashie), A.J. (Ethel), Bertram, Reginald (Jean), Walter, Anna (Gil) and Donald in infancy. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell for visitation on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell on December 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. The funeral for the late Jean Teresa O’Hanley was held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Placing the Pall were her sons Billy Joe O’Hanley and Michael O’Hanley. The Altar Servers were David MacAdam, and Philip Pierlot. Eucharistic Minister was Alan MacAdam. The first reading was read by Marie O’Hanley, while Mary Jean McCarthy proclaimed the second reading. Laurena MacAdam offered the prayers of intercession. Father Brian read the gospel and delivered the homily. The Pallbearers were Jimmy MacAdam, Joe MacAdam, Garry MacAdam, Matthew Collins, Danny McCarthy, Chris Palmer, Colin MacAdam and John McCarthy. Honorary Pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers were Chloe MacAdam and Ashley Collins. Music was provided by Jacinta MacDonald, Breanna MacAdam and Tom Vail singing, Processional, Like A Shepherd; Psalm, Psalm, 23; Preparation of gifts, Hail Mary, Gentle Woman; Communion, The Summonds; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
