The death occurred on September 23, 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Heather Patricia MacEwen, (nee Compton), aged 67 of Bangor Road. Loving wife of the late Roger MacEwen. Loving mother of Chris, Craig (Juliana), Cory (Lori), and Donna. Grandmother of Kurtis (Emily), Zachary, Lucas, Tristan and Gavin. Loving sister of Janet (Carl) MacMaster, Donna (Robert) MacLean, Carol Compton, Paul (Debbie) Compton, Gary (Shannon) Compton, Ginnie (Bobby) Runighan and Sandra MacLean. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Bruce MacEwen, and Wes (Lin) MacEwen, and nephew, Scott (Stacey) MacEwen. Honoured friend of Sid and Linda Matthews, Flo Cobb, Pat Hayman and Brian Compton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Roger, she was predeceased by her infant son, Roger Jr.; her parents, Robert (Bob) and Helen Compton; her brother, Dean Compton; and sister, Debbie Laybolt; as well as parents-in-law, Preston and Glady MacEwen; and nephew, Jamie MacEwen. Resting at the Peter Gordon Memorial United Church, Morell, for visitation on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral to be held at the Peter Gordon Memorial United Church, Morell, on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heather’s memory, to the Lung Association of PEI. Interment in Bangor Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
