Geraldine Mary MacAulay Obituary

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 07, 2023 of Geraldine MacAulay, aged 98. She was born on April 26, 1925, the daughter of Franklyn MacAulay and Helen MacPhee. Her siblings, all deceased, were; Gertrude (Michael O’Brien), Wilfred, George, Helen and Beatrice (Connie LeClair). Left to mourn are nieces and nephews Bill LeClair (Teri), Paulette LeClair, Jane LeClair, Lawrence LeClair (Brenda Brydon), Marcia MacAulay and Kevin O’Brien. She will also be sadly missed by her great niece and nephews, Carly, Michael, Owen, Silas and Emmett LeClair. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center, St. Peter’s Bay, with visitation on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in lieu of Flowers (flowers gratefully declined), donations may be made in Geraldine’s memory to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, to the PEI Humane Society, or to a charity of your choice. The funeral for the late Geraldine Mary MacAulay was held on July 13, 2023, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Laying the Pall were Paulette LeClair and Jane LeClair. Altar servers consisted of Ronnie MacInnis, David Lewis, and Gerard MacKinnon. The funeral bulletins were distributed by Heather MacLean. The first reading was read by Lawrence LeClair while Brenda Brydon proclaimed the second reading. Carol Anne Matheson and Irene Burge offered the prayers of intercession. Father MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. The pallbearers consisted of Claude Matheson, Kevin MacAulay, Robbie Thompson, Scott Anderson, Andy Ryan and Alex Dixon. Honorary pallbearers included everyone in attendance. Music was provided by St. Peter’s Choir with soloist Louise MacKinnon singing, Processional, Like a Shepherd; Psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd; Preparation of gifts ,Prayer of St. Francis; Communion, Come to the Water; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, Peace is Flowing Like a River. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
