It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, Garry Joseph MacKinnon of Cardigan Road, aged 67 years, surrounded by family and friends, at Kings County Memorial Hospital. Survived by his loving wife Joan (nee O’Brien); his sons, Robert (Stacey), Mark, Tim (Claire); his daughter, Mallory (Roque); his mother, Barbara MacKinnon; his grandchildren, Emma, Ireland, Wilder, Ryzo and Ava, and fur baby Isis. Also survived by his siblings, Mary Irene (Stewart), Teresa (Bob), Barbie (Robbie), Paul (Lori); sister-in-law, Becky; brother-in-law, Gerald; father-in-law, Francis (JR) and the extended O’Brien family; special uncle to Allan Jr. MacKinnon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife, Irma, his father, Joe Ramie; sister, Joanne; brother, Allan; step-daughter, Natalie; aunt, Mary Willie; and by his mother-in-law, Rosella O’Brien. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center, St. Peter’s Bay, for visitation on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 5 – 8 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. By personal request from Garry, please refrain from sending flowers. Memorial donations may be made in Garry’s memory to Kings County Palliative Home Care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
