Freda Anne Curley Obituary

Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday Feb 5th, 2015 of Freda Anne Curley (nee Tanner) of Farmington PEI, formerly of Regina, SK, age 65. Beloved and inspiring wife of Patrick Curley, and dear mother of Christine Fieldgate (Michael), Michael (Emilie), Jason, Margaret Kasprick (Jason), and Kelly, all of Regina; Nancy (Ron Montieth) of Saskatoon, SK ,and Brendan (Michelle) of Edmonton, AB. Adored grandmother of Miles Fieldgate, Andrew and Addison Curley; Taylor Healey, Meaghan Stulberg, and Ryland and Ryder Monteith; Madison, Cassandra and Alexandra Curley; Emma, Caleb and Gabriel Kasprick; and Anna and Austin Curley. Great-Grandmother of Aiden and Aubree Stulberg. Much-loved sister of Margaret Choboter, Regina, and Dorothy Tanner, Vancouver. Sister-in-law of Alexander Choboter, and of the Curleys: Brian (Veronica), Isabelle Christian (Gerard), Kevin (Wanda), Rosemary, Dennis (Karin Fryday), Kathleen, Terry (Jane), and Dorothy (Eugene MacDonald). Sadly missed by best friends Lee and Don Harbrict, and new friends in the greater St Peters area. Predeceased by her parents Nancy and Lloyd Tanner and by her Curley brothers-in-law, John, Austin, Brendan (survived by Shauna) and Philip (survived by Georgie).

Freda spent much of her working life as a medical clerk in the Regina Qu’Appelle Health District. She worked tirelessly for her large family, and loved planning for the holidays, assembling large crowds for a food extravaganza, entertaining her grandchildren and planning for renovations in the home. In retirement she moved to PEI and discovered many friends in the Souris area through the Red Clay Quilting Guild and the Silver Threads Seniors Club. 

Resting at the Dr. Roddie Centre, St. Peter’s Bay, with visitation Tuesday, February 10th 2 - 4 and 7 - 9. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 11 th at 2:00 PM at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St Peters Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Education Fund for Brandan O’Brien. A bin will be provided for donations of socks for the homeless and other persons in need. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
