Francis Peter Schellen Obituary

The death occurred peacefully at the Kings County Memorial Hospital, on November 23, 2021 surrounded by his family of Francis Peter Schellen, formerly of New Perth aged 93. Survived by his children, Mario (Marion), Martin (Bonnie), Arnold (Sherri), Bernadette, and Albert (Kathy); as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Cora; his daughter-in-law, Sharon; and by his son-in-law, David. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. No visitation by request. Funeral mass to be held Saturday, December 04, 2021 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Montague at 2:00 pm by invitation only. Interment in the parish cemetery. The funeral mass for the late Francis Peter Schellen was held on Saturday, December 04, 2021 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Montague, with Father Tim Broderick officiating. The altar server were Tony Molloy, Diane Condon, Danny Butler and Billy Power. Laying the Pall were Mario Schellen, Martin Schellen, Arnold Schellen and Albert Schellen. The first reading was read by Taylor Graham, while David Graham – Smith proclaimed the second reading. Geraldine MacDougall offered the prayers of intercession. Father Broderick read the gospel and delivered the homily. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers consisted of Lucas Graham, Taylor Graham, Logan Graham, Ashton Schellen, Kyle Schellen, and Mitchell Schellen. Flower bearers were Christina Schellen and Ryder Graham. Music was provided by St. Mary’s Choir under the direction of Yvonne Higgins and organist, Joan Murchison singing: Processional, Nearing My God to Thee; Psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd; Preparation of Gifts, Abide With Me; Communion, Ave Maria; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the Recessional, Holy God We Praise Thy Name. Interment took place in the parish Cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
