Donald Francis MacEachern Obituary

Passed peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on January 07, 2022 Donald Francis MacEachern of Charlottetown, and formerly of Morell and Canavoy, age 100 years. Veteran of World War II as a member of the Canadian Merchant Navy, serving from 1939 to 1945. Recipient of the Atlantic Star Medal in recognition of his military service. Beloved uncle of Jack MacEachern (Linda), Anne MacArthur, Angus MacEachern (Charlotte), David MacEachern (Cheryl), Hugh MacEachern, Theresa Spingle (George), Gerard Nolan, Mary MacLeod (Vince), Anne Ballem (John), Marjorie Dietz (Brian), Bernadette Reynolds (Tony) and nephew-in-law, Randy Jenkins. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marie (Manderson); Marie’s daughhter Nadine; his parents John James MacEachern and Charlotte Hughes; brother, John Bernard and his wife Myrtle; sister, Eunice Nolan and her husband Ivan; and niece Charlotte Jenkins. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. Due to current public health restrictions there will be no visitation. A private funeral by invitation only will be held at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Andrews Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donald’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of PEI either directly or by e-transfer to northshorefuneralhome@gmail.com. The funeral mass for the late Donald Francis MacEachern was held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell , with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Laying the Pall were Bernadette Reynolds and Tony Reynolds. The first reading was read by Bernadette Reynolds, while Sabrinna Spingle proclaimed the second reading. Father Brian MacDougall offered the prayers of intercession, read the gospel and delivered the homily. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers consisted of Jack MacEachern, Gerard Nolan, Mary MacLeod, Anne MacArthur, Hugh MacEachern and Angus MacEachern. Flower bearer was Theresa Spingle. Music was provided by Jacinta MacDonald singing: Processional, Here I am Lord; Psalm, The Lord is My Shepherd; Preparation of Gifts, Come to the Water; Communion, The Bread of Life; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Andrew’s. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
