Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, the death occurred on March 07, 2025, of Daniel Francis Byrne of Byrne Road aged 94. Beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Gregory); cherished father of Stephen (Christine), Joey (Marcella), Linda (David), Brenda, Brad and Shannon. Loving grandfather of Kirsten, Donnie, Amanda, Dillon, Katie, Bailey, Charlotte, Naomi, Jack, Chancey, Jessey, Daisey-Lee, Danielle, Dawson, Liam, Ocean and their families; as well as numerous great grandchildren. He will be also sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Irene, Mary Jean, George, Melford, Mae, DJ (Debbie), Margaret, Lorna (Keith) and Melvina. Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Anna Mae Byrne; Parents-in-law, Charlie and Renilda Gregory; his siblings, Mary (Patrick), Louis (Mae), Mike (Pearl), Peter, John, Walter, and Emmanuel. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie, Sinnott, Kenneth, Lois, Dolly, Mike, Everett, Leonard and Johnny. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, for visitation on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral mass on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Green Meadows, at 10:30 am. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations will be gratefully accepted in Dan’s memory to St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
Funeral
The funeral for the late Dan Byrne was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church, Green Meadows with Father Danny Wilson officiating. Altar Servers were Leonard Kelly, Cindy Byrne, and Gerry Laybolt. Laying the Pall as well as pallbearers were Stephen Byrne, Joey Byrne, Linda MacDonald, Brenda Byrne, Brad Bryne and Shannon Byrne.. The first reading was read Cindy Byrne, Charlotte Byrne proclaimed the second reading and Marcella Byrne offered the prayers of intercession. Father Danny read the gospel and delivered the homily. The Honorary Pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers were Kirsten MacDougall, Charlotte Byrne, Naomi Byrne, Jack Byrne, Dawson MacDonald, Danielle MacDonald, Chancey MacDonald, Jessey MacDonald, Daisy-Lee MacDonald, Liam Byrne and Ocean Byrne. Lay Distributor was Arlene MacEwen. Music was provided by Larry Phelan singing Processional, Here I am Lord: Psalm, Rest in God Alone; Preparation of Gifts, Isaiah 49; Communion, Amazing Grace; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment was in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
