Claire Hendricken Obituary

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Claire Theresa Hendricken of Fanningbrook on Friday the 24th day of March 2023. Claire was born in Charlottetown on December 07, 1952 to Daniel Hendricken and Catherine (Phelan) Hendricken. Claire leaves to forever cherish her memory her siblings: Lornie, J.P., Diane MacKay (Donald). Coleen Rodgerson (Howard), and Leo (Helen); sisters-in-law, Vilma, Marjorie and Doris; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Barney to cherish her life and spirit. Predeceased by her siblings; Irwin, Bernice Kelly (Howard), Elaine Wood (Roy), Frankie and Phelan (Diane); and sister-in law, Marie. Claire was a devoted and dedicated pediatric nurse, who cared deeply about the children. Although she was small in stature, she was fierce in her convictions and loved deeply. She was the one person her entire family relied upon for medical advice if anything happened, whether it be a heart attack, cancer, diabetes, or injuries incurred from a motorcycle or car accident. She always dropped what she was doing and came to be there whenever anyone needed her. Claire will be sorely missed by her entire family but especially by her brother Lornie, with whom she lived for years with their dog Barney. There will be no visitation by personal request. All are welcome to attend her funeral mass at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Stewart on Saturday, April 01, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Following the burial everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of Claire’s life at Peakes Tee in St. Teresa.
