The death occurred peacefully on November 19, 2021 at Beach Grove Home in Charlottetown, of Catherine Imelda McDermid, formerly of Morell East aged 81. Survived by her children, Gerard Keefe (Diane – deceased), Eric Keefe (Kathy), Jane Bevan (Arnold – deceased), Valerie Peters (Paul), and Carson Keefe. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sisters, Lorraine Weir (Blair), Alycia Wier, Veronica McDermid, and Bernadette McDermid-Pederson (Roy); and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Herb and Mary (Flynn) McDermid; her son, Kevin Keefe; her brother Eugene in infancy as well as daughter-in-law, Diane Tsialtas; and son-in-law Arnold Bevan. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home for public visitation on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 12 – 1:30 pm. Vax pass and photo ID will be required. Funeral mass to take place immediately following visitation at 2:00 pm at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell by invitation only. The funeral mass for the late Catherine Imelda McDermid was held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Placing the Pall were Jane Bevan and Valerie Peters. The first reading was read by Bernadette McDermid – Pederson, while Amber Peters proclaimed the second reading. Bernadette McDermid – Pederson offered the prayers of intercession. Father MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. Honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers consisted of Gerard Keefe, Brent Peters, Derek Waters, Carson Keefe, Brodie Peters and Chad Bevan. Flower bearers were Jaclyn Bevan, Paige Keefe and Donovan Keefe. Music was provided by Jacinta MacDonald singing: Processional, Here I am Lord; Psalm, Psalm 23; Preparation of Gifts, Bread of Life; Communion, One Day at a Time; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and the Recessional, Amazing Grace. Interment took place in the parish Cemetery with Father Danny Wilson conducting the gravesite service. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
