Catherine MacDonald

The death occurred peacefully at Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on December 26, 2019 of Catherine MacDonald of St. George's, aged 97. Wife of the late John James MacDonald. Survived by her loving daughters, Gertie Llewellyn (Glen), and Cecelia MacDonald; daughter-in-law, Eileen Dougan; grandchildren, Dwayne Llewellyn (Marlene), Earl, Katie, Colleen and Erin MacDonald, Jamie Dougan and Shannon MacDonald; seven great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, John James, she was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Joseph Johnston; her sons, Patrick, Benny and J.B. MacDonald; her grandson, Shawn MacDonald; her brothers, Francis Johnston (Teresa), Aeneas Johnston, and Josie Johnston (Florence); her sister, Anna; her brothers-in-law, Art MacDonald, and Phillip MacDonald; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Edmonds, Rose Clark and Loretta Samphy. Resting at St. George's Roman Catholic Church, St. George's, for visitation on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at the church on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made in Catherine's memory to St. George's cemetery fund.
