Suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on April 24, 2025 of Billy O’Hanley of Morell aged 98. Survived by his sons Billy Joe, and Michael (Maria). He will also be dearly missed by his granddaughter Danielle (Tim), and great grandchildren Payton and Aleaha; and by his sister Leah.
Predeceased by his wife Jean (nee MacAdam), and by siblings Joseph (Mary), Gerald, Hubert (Giséle), Stashie (Francis), and Sister Rose. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell for visitation on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral mass to be held at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, Morell on Thursday, May 01, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations in Billy’s memory may be made to St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
Funeral
The funeral for the late William "Billy" O'Hanley was held on Thursday, May 01, 2025, at St. Theresa, The Little Flower Roman Catholic Church with Father Blair Bernard officiating. Placing the Pall were Billy Joe O'Hanley and Michael O'Hanley. The first reading was read by Marie O'Hanley: Leslie Collins proclaimed the second reading and Peggy Logan offered the prayers of intercession. Father Blair read the gospel and delivered the homily. The honorary pallbearers were everyone in attendance. Pallbearers consisted of Mark MacAdam, Matt Collins, Robert O'Hanley, Andrew MacAdam, Ian MacAdam, Jimmy MacAdam, Jim Doyle and Danny McCarthy,. Flower Bearers were Ashley Collins and Chloe MacAdam. Eucharistic Minister was Philip Pierlot. Music was provided by Breanna MacAdam and Tom Vail singing Processional, Like a Shepherd: Psalm, Psalm 23; Preparation of Gifts, The Old Rugged Cross; Communion, The Summons; Incensing, Songs of the Angels; and Recessional, How Great Thou Art. Interment was in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
