The death occurred on January 12, 2019 at the Colville Manor in Souris, with her family by her side, of Barbara MacKinnon, aged 90 years. Wife of the late Joseph “Joe Ramie” MacKinnon. Loving mother to Mary Irene MacSwain (Stewart), Teresa MacKinnon (Bob Glover), Barbie Thompson (Robbie), Paul MacKinnon (Lori Lawless); Mother-in-law to Becky MacKinnon, Joan MacKinnon and Gerald Dykerman. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Euphemia MacAulay; by sons, Garry and Allan; her daughter, Joanne; her sister, Mary MacMillan, and by her brother, Reggie MacAulay. Also survived by grandchildren, Robert, Mark, Timmy, Mallory, Jocelyn, Elizabeth, Kate, Sarah, Jeff, Philip, Allan, Bradley, Charity, Matthew, Cameron, Hannah, Matthew, Amanda, Emily, Benjamin, and Annie. She was “Cookie Nana” to 21 great grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Barbara loved her family immeasurably and welcomed one and all to her home with open arms, a cup of tea and warm biscuits. She was joyful, faithful and an inspiration to all who knew her. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center, St. Peter’s Bay, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund.
