Arthur MacKenzie Obituary

The death occurred with family by his side on March 23, 2021, of Arthur MacKenzie, aged 57. Survived by his siblings, Leonard (Betty), Evelyn, Harold (Darlene), and Brian (Rita); sisters-in-law, Gloria and Joanne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Ruth; and by brothers, Albert, Gordon, John and Charles. Resting at North Shore Funeral Home, Morell. Funeral mass to be held at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay on Monday at 11:00 am. Interment in the parish cemetery. Due to covid restrictions, visitation and funeral mass will be by invitation only. Due to allergies, please refrain from sending flowers. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to Harbourview Training Center by e-transferring to harbourview.ctr@eastlink.ca or to Colville Manor Activity Fund by e-transferring to North Shore Funeral Home at northshorefuneralhome@gmail.com. The funeral mass for the late Arthur MacKenzie was held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Peter’s Bay Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, with Father Brian MacDougall officiating. Placing the pall were Leonard MacKenzie, Harold MacKenzie, and Brian MacKenzie. Altar Server was Jimmy MacAulay. The first reading was read by Darlene Payton, while Greg MacNevin proclaimed the second reading. Peggy MacNevin offered the prayers of intercession. Father MacDougall read the gospel and delivered the homily. The Pallbearers were Shawn Laybolt, Jolyne Sharkey, Colleen McIntosh, Jerry MacKinnon, Ian MacKinnon and Sterling Dwan. Honorary pallbearers consisted of Gerard Whalen, Reggie McGaugh, Christine Cheverie, Shelby MacInnis, Adam Myers, Delbert McInnis, Darius Gardiner and everyone in attendance. Flower Bearers were Kelly MacKenzie and Lorna Whitty. Music was provided by Louise MacKinnon, Hubert MacIsaac, and Shellagh Reynolds singing, Processional, Be Not Afraid: Offertory, All That We Have; Communion, Come to the Water; Meditation, How Great Thou Art; Incensing, Songs of the Angles; and the Recessional, Amazing Grace. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
