The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, with family present, on Friday October 18, 2013 of Anna Maria (Rie) van Bysterveldt of Bedford, aged 86 years. Born in Goirle, the Netherlands on April 2, 1927 daughter of the late Johannes and Adrianna (Moonen) de Brouwer. Wife of Marinus (Rinus) van Bysterveldt. Mother of Neil (Paula) Bysterveldt, Agnes (David) McQuaid and John (Janet) Bysterveldt. Oma to eleven much loved grandchildren and two very special great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Jan (Mien), Piet (Gera), Sjef (Riet), Harrie (Trees), sisters-in-law Bets de Brouwer, Adrie (Harrie) van den Broek and brothers-in-law Henk Sewuster, Toon van den Hout, Krijn (Magda) van Bijsterveldt, Frans Abrahams and Jan (Sjaan) van Bijsterveldt, all of the Netherlands, brothers-in-law Herman Sewuster of North River, PEI and Joseph van Schaick of Barrie, Ontario as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Nellie Oerlemans, Jo Sewuster, Alice Sewuster and Truus van den Hout, brother Janus, sisters-in-law Dini de Brouwer, Net Abrahams and Rie van Schaick and brother-in-law Frans Oerlemans.
Resting at the Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford (under the direction of the North Shore Funeral Home) for visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday in St. Bonaventure’s Church, Tracadie Cross at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Tracadie Cross.
